JK Rowling is not bothered by the actor who is starring in HBO's new Harry Potter series signing aletter which calls on industry action on trans rights.

A source close to the anti-trans advcate said she ''won't care at all'' that Severus Snape star Paapa Essied has signed the letter that demands that industry institutions such as Bafta, BBC, BFI and Channel 4 commit to protecting those from the  LGBT+ communityincluding trans people,

The letter was started by Motive Pictures producer Sid Strickland and script editor Jack Casey in response to a decision last month by Britain's Supreme Court ruling that ruled a person can only be considered a woman if it is their biological sex.

The insider with working knowledge of the Harry Potter series said Ms Rowling would also not dream dream of intervening to get him sacked, despite her being heavily involved in the project

They said: ''Jo won’t care at all.

''She knows how powerful Harry Potter is and it’s bigger than its cast. She knows she’s going to come against criticism but she is now uncancelable.

''For her it’s 'business as usual’, which is to ‘continue to build the Harry Potter brand’ while supporting women’s rights.''

Paapa signing the letter comes after trans activists accusing him of virtue-signalling because he refused to quit the show inspired by Rowling's book and said his stance on the issue was ''plain hollow''.

Although the series has not yet started filming many have said they will not watch it over Rowling's stance on the trans community and her supporting the ruling which said terms 'woman' and 'sex' in the UK's Equality Act refer to a biological woman and biological sex.

Essiedu takes on the role of the Hogwarts teacher previously played by the late Alan Rickman in the film series.
