Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar's body found in tunnel beneath hospital
Sinwar's body was found with 10 other terrorists in a complex beneath the European hospital in Khan Yunis.
Israeli forces say they recovered the body of a Hamas military leader Mohammed Sinwar in an underground complex beneath a hospital in Gaza.
The IDF confirmed that Sinwar's body was found in a tunnel and released video of the hideout, which showed long tunnels leading to a bedroom.
They also released an image of Sinwar's identification cards alongside the clip on X.

"Mohammad Sinwar was responsible for the deaths of countless civilians. He was eliminated in an IDF & ISA strike on May 13," the IDF wrote.
The IDF used a bunker buster bomb to target Sinwar before the army reportedly struck the area where he was located.
Although they targeted the complex beneath the hospital, regular operations remained unaffected.
"His body was found beneath the European hospital in Khan Yunis—more proof of how Sinwar and Hamas hide behind their civilians and purposely embed themselves in civilian areas, such as hospitals," the IDF added.
"He died the way he lived—underground," they added.
Sinwar became the militant group’s de facto leader after the Israeli military killed his brother, Yahya Sinwar, last October.
The May 13 Israeli strike killed six Palestinians and wounded at least 40 more, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had then said it carried out a strike on the European hospital in Khan Yunis, targeting “Hamas terrorists in a command and control center” in underground infrastructure beneath the hospital, CNN reported.
Medical teams tried to move patients to safe units inside the hospital, Dr. Saleh Al Hams, the head of nursing, told CNN.
