FOX Sports was criticized for 'going too far' with their coverage of the 2016 U.S. Open, with the cameraman accused of acting like a 'stalker' over Dustin Johnson's wife Paulina Gretzky.

The 27-year-old daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, Paulina had worn a short white skirt on the final day of the U.S. Open, with Johnson in a commanding lead and looking set to win his first ever major.

The FOX cameras would follow Johnson around all day in case of a slip-up, while he remained poised with another great round to secure his first major while celebrating with his family.

But throughout the final day, the camera had panned to Paulina on over a dozen occasions, even focussing in on the length of her dress and getting shots of her from behind.

Gretzky had some difficulties with her chosen attire on the day, needing to pull the dress down so she would not be exposed while hugging her spouse.

At one point, the cameraman had filmed her from behind as she walked up the stairs with Johnson after winning the major, with her holding her dress down.

Throughout the afternoon and the following day, hundreds had taken to social media to criticized the cameraman, stating that FOX had gone way too far.

One had written: "You know a man is in charge if camera following #PaulinaGretzky @DJohnsonPGA up the damn stairs," while another said: " Whos more p***ed off right now - wayne gretzky or the cameramans wife? #paulinagretzky".

A third had wrote: "This is just plain creepy at this point. The cameraman has clearly been told to get these shots, they're trying to do it as much as they can!"

Johnson and Gretzky, had been together since 2009 before becoming engaged in 2013. They married in 2022, while having two children together.
