Donald Trump is set to attend UFC 316 this weekend with Full Send podcast host Kyle Forgeard confirming the news on a recent podcast.

Forgeard has had Trump on his show on three occasions, being close friends with the president and a regular at UFC events himself. Fans have given him a rapturous reception on each occasion, making it clear they largely approve of his presence, where he has performed extravagant walkouts to please the crowd.

Trump has seemed to make more appearances than ever at UFC events, having been at UFC 314 and UFC 309 - seeing Jon Jones retain the world heavyweight title belt before hitting the Trump dance in celebration.

Speaking on the Full Send podcast with Sean O'Malley, who will headline the card, Forgeard said: "I think Trump is going to be there, right? I don’t know. That’s what I heard.”

Trump could indeed make the short trip from his Mar-A-Lago home to New Jersey, where he's likely to embrace with UFC president White and Joe Rogan, who he has become friends with after appearing on his podcast.

Trump and White have been close friends for almost three decades now, with the president even funding the UFC in it's early days and making regular appearances in the arena.

Speaking on Logan Paul's IMPAULSIVE podcast, Trump had praised White and explained why he has remained close friends with him over the year.

He said: "I think Dana White is one of a kind. He’s been generous to me, he made a great statement about me the other day. I think the expression ‘everyone’s replaceable'… I’m not sure anyone could do the job he does. He’s unbelievable."

Meanwhile, White has spoken of his admiration for Trump on countless occasions, while speaking at a number of his rallies last year. At one, he stated: "He is the most resilient, hardest-working human being that I've ever met in my entire life."

As referenced above, O'Malley will headline the event, in a rematch against current bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili - who comes into the bout off-the-back of a statement win over Umar Nurmagomedov - the cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
