NASCAR results in full at Wurth 400 as Joey Logano completes surprise comeback

Having started way back in 27th, Joey Logano carefully crept his way through the pack to win the Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.

A packed house at Texas Motor Speedway was treated to a dramatic afternoon of racing as Joey Logano took the checkered flag at the NASCAR Cup Series' Wurth 400.

At a track described as "treacherous" ever since it was constructed by Kevin Harvick, the 2025 race proved no different. With TMS having produced 54 cautions over the past four years alone, this time around there were yet another 12, including a Denny Hamlin fireball, takeoffs from Bubba Wallace and A.J. Allmendinger, and two incidents involving Kyle Busch.

A stop-start race ensured that it all came down to the final few laps, where anyone from Logano to Ross Chastain, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, or Michael McDowell could have claimed the victory.

In fact, it was McDowell who looked likely to claim the victory as with just three laps to go, before Logan and Blaney snuck past him on a restart despite his best efforts. In the end, his race came to an unfortunate end, with McDowell being caught up in the dirty air behind Blaney, causing him to slam his No. 71 Chevrolet ZL1 into the wall.

Speaking to FOX Sports, McDowell later admitted that while he been "giving it everything we had," in hindsight, he "probably should have conceded" to Logano earlier rather than pushing him so far down the track, which set him up to be overtaken by Blaney shortly after.

As for Logano, who tapped the back of Wallace's No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE before the 23XI Racing driver spun out of the race in the late stages, Sunday was exactly the fresh start he needed in the Team Penske No. 22 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, with the three-time Cup Series champion having failed to finish in the top five in any of the previous 10 races this season - including a disqualification in the previous race at Talladega.

"This sport changes so quickly, it's crazy how you can just ride these rollercoasters," Logano told FOX Sports.

Asked how he managed to pick his way through the field to suddenly emerge a contender in the final few laps, having started back in 27th, Logano replied: "Just slowly, methodically. Couple at a time. We had a really tough pit stall situation. The pit crew did a good job of managing that, and just grabbed a couple here and there.

"The car was fast, I knew that yesterday, I just did a poor job qualifying, and just grinded it out, just keep grinding and getting a couple here, a couple there, and eventually get a win here."

Logano's first win at Texas Motor Speedway since the Duck Commander 500 in 2014, the reigning Series champion is now the ninth different driver to have won in Fort Worth in as many races.

But while it was a day to remember for Logano, it was one to forget for Carson Hocevar, who started the day on pole for the first time in his Cup Series career. With just 31 laps to go, the 22-year-old pushed Ryan Preece as far as he could off of turn two, until there was simply nowhere to go but into the wall.

Preece rebounded off of the wall straight into Hocevar, who was nearly flipped as he spun around Preece's hood, all while Cody Ware spun out behind them.
