Britney Spears has broken her silence following a reported disturbance on a flight that supposedly led to police involvement.

The pop sensation took to social media with an extensive message to share her perspective after news surfaced that she "caused a big commotion" during her trip from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to Los Angeles, USA, last Thursday.

Allegations emerged that Britney lit up a cigarette on a private jet but extinguished it when asked by the crew, and upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), she was greeted by "authorities."

While there were suggestions that Britney, 43, was being "difficult" on board, LAX police reportedly indicated they did not attend the scene.

TMZ speculated that perhaps a Customs official might have given Britney a warning about her supposed behavior after landing.

"I was like wow what the heck is in there ! ! ! I felt so clear and smart ! ! ! And said I want a cigarette so bad ! ! ! She then confessed her mistaken impression of receiving VIP treatment at the airport, saying: "I thought officials greeted me as support and I was like WOW I feel special ! ! ! I've never been to an international airport! ! ! Am I famous or something ? ? ?"
