Liz Hurley strips nude after backlash over Billy Ray Cyrus' 'love' post
Elizabeth Hurley posted a photo of herself bare in honor of her big day following her beau Billy Ray Cyrus' birthday tribute to her.
Elizabeth Hurley added a new meaning to birthday suit in her recent social media post.
The model-actress turned 60 on June 10 and made a celebratory post on Instagram. Liz posted a photo of herself sitting naked in the grass. The mother-of-one pulled her knees up to her chest in order to protect her modesty and sported a huge grin for the camera.
“Happy birthday to me! This year has already been a wild ride; my 30th year of working with the Estée Lauder Companies, my 30th year as the Global Ambassador of the @esteelaudercompanies Breast Cancer Campaign, the 20th anniversary of @elizabethhurleybeach and… I’m in love [three red heart emojis] Feeling very blessed and grateful for having the best friends & family in the world [a red heart emoji] pic taken this afternoon… in my birthday suit xxx."
Within her birthday post, she also mentioned being "in love" which refers to her current relationship to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. The couple publicly confirmed their relationship in April with a joint Instagram post.
The "in love" feeling was mutual for Billy Ray, who shared a birthday tribute to Liz on June 10. He shared a photo of the two smiling as Liz sat on his lap. She was dressed in a pink-orange embroidered shirt with jeans and a cowboy hat on her hand. Billy wore a brown denim shirt and shades on his face. He captioned the post: "Happy birthday to the love of my life"
The post garnered some backlash as people attacked Billy for his phrasing and cited his previous relationships and marriages. For example, one person commented: “literally every girl you get is the love of your life you can’t keep a girl to save your life LMSO." Another said:"Your 15th love of your life!!"
But there were also comments from fans who support the couple: "You make a great couple and this is the first time I’ve seen you smile so genuinely with your partner" and "Dude looking happier than ever!!! Congratulations Billy."
The couple first met on set of the 2022 film, Christmas In Paradise and Bily Ray shared to PEOPLE how the two reconnected during his separation (and eventual divorce) from ex-wife Firerose when Liz reached out to him. The two hadn’t spoken "for two years" after filming their Christmas film, prior to the text.
Liz's message to him read, "Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I’m in your corner; you’ve got a friend in your corner."
The Achy Breaky Heart singer said that he was not aware of who the number belonged to. He asked the person and they answered Liz. "Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh," Billy Ray added. He went on to call Liz "a great human being, "impressively brilliant, very smart businesswoman," and said she reminded him of country music legend Dolly Parton.
Billy Ray and Liz made their red carpet debut together on May 24, a month after going Instagram official, at a dinner celebrating the opening of the Orizzonti/Rosso exhibition in Rome, Italy.
