Brad Pitt's Los Angeles home burglarized after thieves jump fence and break-in

Brad Pitt's Los Angeles estate was reportedly burglarized.

The break-in at the actor's LA residence occurred on Wednesday, June 25 at around 10:30 p.m. PT, with LAPD responding to the scene, according to ABC News. Law enforcement sources revealed that three intruders jumped a fence to gain entry to the yard and broke in through a window.

Police said the property was thoroughly "ransacked," with an unknown number of items stolen. Police are currently investigating the incident and plan to utilize surveillance footage from the home and the surrounding area to assist in their efforts.

While the LAPD has not officially identified the homeowner, insiders have confirmed to ABC News that it belongs to the 61-year-old film producer. TMZ also reported about the break-in, providing images of what appears to be Brad's front door sealed with plywood and a service van parked outside with a person nearby, indicating repair work, reports the Mirror US.

It remains uncertain whether Brad was the intended target or if his home was just one among many to be hit by burglars. There have been a string of robberies in an upscale areas in Los Angles and Southern California, including celebrities. Several celebrities, including Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Jeremy Piven, Marshmello, Austin Butler, NBA's Ty Jerome, LAFC's Olivier Giroud, and 'Selling Sunset' stars Mary and Romain Bonnet, have experienced burglaries this year.

Brad Pitt was not at home during the incident as he is currently promoting his new race car driving film, F1. The Bullet Train actor was reportedly in Japan when the burglary occurred.

F1 had its world premiere on June 16 at Times Square in New York City. On June 23, Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance at the London premiere, marking the first public reunion between him and Brad in 24 years.

F1 tells the story of veteran race-car driver Sonny Hayes (played by Brad), who retires from Formula One after a severe crash. He is persuaded to come out of retirement by his former teammate and friend Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem) and work alongside British rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris).

The film also stars Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Kim Bodnia. Simone Ashley was initially cast in an undisclosed role but was cut from the film.

F1 was directed by Joseph Kosinski with a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger and in collaboration with the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).

A representative for Brad Pitt declined to comment.
