Hollywood A-lister Matthew McConaughey has leads heartfelt tributes to the victims of the catastrophic Texas floods, which claimed over 80 lives, including at least 28 children.
The Texas-born star expressed his sorrow, stating: "At least 70 lives have been lost, many more are unaccounted for, and countless Texans are hurting - inside and out."
Urging support for the affected communities, McConaughey, encouraged people to "lend a helping hand" wherever possible. He emphasized the resilience and generosity of Texans, saying, "It's gonna be a long road ahead, but right now the shock, the pain, and the chaos need the steady hand of a neighbor. Texans are some of the most resilient and generous people on the planet."

The disaster unfolded rapidly as the Guadalupe River surged by approximately 26 feet in under an hour following intense rainfall, leading to widespread destruction and numerous individuals still missing.
In response to the tragedy, Donald Trump has declared a Major Disaster, amid ongoing search and rescue efforts.
Joining McConaughey in paying respects, Grammy-award-winning artist Shakira announced her intention to contribute concert proceeds to the relief operations.
On social media, Shakira shared her intentions: "Our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in Central Texas. We are donating a portion of tonight's show proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing disaster relief to the families impacted.", reports the Mirror US.
Texas-born Eva Longoria shared her feelings about the devastating floods in an emotional Instagram video. She expressed a "heavy" heart over the disaster.
She spoke about an all-girls summer camp, Camp Mystic, which was ongoing when the floods struck, saying, "[It's] unbelievable, the flooding, and the camp that was affected. I know so many families that have been going to those camps for years.Longoria continued, "So sending my prayers to those families and communities.
"I'm so far away, so it feels harder when you're not close to do more.
"It's a heavy world right now. And I hope everyone is taking care of their mental health."

Reality TV star Khloé Kardashian also extended her thoughts to the families and children impacted by the floods. She said, "I can't stop thinking about the families in Texas and the overwhelming pain they're going through right now.
"Kardashian went on to say, "As a mother, this kind of tragedy hits in a place words can't reach. The loss of those sweet, innocent children is something I can't fully process. There are just no words for this.
"Kardashian, who resided in Dallas during her previous marriage to basketball player Lamar Odom in 2012, added, "My heart is so deeply aching for every parent, every family member, and every community.
"Please know that so many of us are carrying you in our hearts right now and I'm praying with everything I have in me for those still missing. Texas, we are holding you close."
