First look at Stephen King's The Running Man as fans left 'screaming'

Fans of Stephen King has shared their excitement after a first look at the new adaptation of The Running Man.

Based on Stephen King's dystopian thriller, The Running Man is set to hit theaters on November 7, following the story of a desperate man who enters a deadly TV show where contestants are hunted by trained killers.

The objective is to survive 30 days with every move broadcast to the public. And each day brings in a bigger cash reward as Ben Richards, played by Glen Powell, fights to save his sick daughter, reports <a href="https://www.themirror.com/entertainment/movies/stephen-king-fans-left-screaming-1238404" rel="Follow" target="_self">the Mirror US</a>.

A synopsis reads: "In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television-a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward.

"Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show's charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort.

The release of the official trailer has fans on the edge of their seats with anticipation. One fan commented: "Glad to see Edgar Wright is BACK!" while another added: "So this is basically Edgar Wright does a Stephen King adaptation... I'm sold and excited for it."

A third wrote: "One of the most gifted filmmakers of his generation."

Another added: "This is my second time watching this trailer and it is insanely awesome! Props to Glen for taking on all these action scenes; I can't wait to see this movie!" 

Paramount Pictures teased fans on Instagram as they wrote: "Millions Hunt. One Runs. Everyone Watches. Watch the Official Trailer for The #RunningManMovie – Only in theatres November 7."

And fans could not contain their excitement as one person wrote: "AMAZING, CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!" as another simply said they were "screaming."

Helmed by Edgar Wright, the film boasts a cast including Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, and Michael Cera, alongside Katy O'Brian, Lee Pace, and Colman Domingo.

This film marks another cinematic take on the beloved book, following the 1987 version that featured Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role of Ben Richards.
