Trump adviser slams SNL calling the show ‘Church of Woke’ after joke
Trump adviser Stephen Miller wasn't thrilled by Saturday Night Live's recent joke about the President.
Donald Trump and his advisors aren’t impressed with Saturday Night Live’s takes on the current administration, with one slamming the sketch comedy series in an appearance on Fox News.
Since the second inauguration of Trump in January, the series has often been targeted by conservatives over what they feel are “bad” jokes about his family and “disgusting” sketches about controversial political stances the administration has had.
Advisors to the President, including Elon Musk, have also slammed the show as telling “lies” to promote an agenda and claiming portrayals of them aren’t funny.

Now, the show is facing a new level of critique from Stephen Miller, after the show once again targeted Trump and his recent State of the Union address during their Weekly Update segment with Colin Jost and Michael Che.
During the segment, Che made a joke about one of Trump’s claims during his speech, which seemingly compared him to former Al Qaeda head Osama Bin Laden.
“President Trump addressed a joint session of Congress and claimed that no President has changed government faster than him,” Che said.
“Yeah, and nobody changed airport security faster than Bin Laden,” he quipped.
However, the joke, which was a reference to the September 11th attacks on the United States, didn’t sit well with Conservatives, and was addressed during Miller’s appearance on Fox News.
As he discussed Democrats’ stance on the State of the Union and Trump’s spending bill, the conversation veered towards SNL, and Miller had no qualms trashing the show over the recent skit.

“‘Saturday Night Live’ has not been culturally relevant in 20 years. ‘Saturday Night Live’ has not produced a meaningful talent since the 1990s. ‘Saturday Night Live’ has been the place where comedy goes to die,” he said.
“The only good thing that has happened on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in the last couple of decades were the times that President Trump hosted ‘Saturday Night Live,’” he continued.
“We would all love to go back to the ‘Saturday Night Live’ that we grew up with but unfortunately because It’s gone woke, because it’s gone left, because it’s gone politically correct, ‘Saturday Night Live’ is now the antithesis of comedy,” he added. “Unless and until they decide to be fearless and bold and brace, and actually mock and challenge the radical left and the church of woke, they are not ever going to be funny again.”
Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays on NBC.
