Foster parents in North Dakota have been accused of killing their autistic 3-year-old girl after months of abuse.

Jamie Johnson, 44, and Raymond Johnson, 62, are facing murder and child abuse charges in connection to their daughter's death in March.  

The couple allegedly beaten, pulled by her hair, forced to sleep on a cot, among other "big punishments" over the several months that she spent in their care, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by Law&Crime.

The child allegedly was punished for crying over or chewing for an extended period of time.

Police were dispatched to their home in Stanley on March 19 after the mother called 911 reporting that the child was unresponsive.

The toddler was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. 

The autoposy report found that she died from blunt force trauma to the head, the affidavit said.

The mother claimed that the child sufferd the injury after falling down the stairs days before her death.

However, the police investigation cast doubt on her narrative.

Police obtained text messages and video footage that paints a narrative in which the mother, accused of being the "meanest one" of the pair, struggling to manage her disabilities.

“It’s not easy, I get pretty crabby sometimes and then I feel like s— for it,” the mom allegedly texted a friend. “Honestly, if I knew how she was I might not have taken her.”
