Iranian lawmaker says Trump should 'order coffins' for troops after US strikes
An Iranian member of parliament said Donald Trump "should order mass production from coffin manufacturing companies" for American troops.
An Iranian member of parliament said Donald Trump should "order [the] mass production" of "coffins" for U.S. troops after the president authorized strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
The scathing comment came as Qasem Ravanbaksh, who represents the Qom province — vowed revenge on the "terrorist forces of America."
Trump announced airstrikes on three of Iran's most important nuclear facilities in a Truth Social post on Saturday night, then detailed them further in a short address to the nation later in the evening.

The strikes, he said, "obliterated" Iran's nuclear enrichment program and prevented the country from acquiring nuclear weapons — which he and Israel claim it had been attempting to create.
Ravanbakhsh, however, said the underground facilities at Fordow — where it's believed the country was producing enriched uranium for the purpose of eventually creating a nuclear weapon — weren't damaged in the U.S.'s attacks, despite Trump's claim that they were destroyed.
In a statement to the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim, Ravanbakhsh said, according to a translation from Persian, "The damage to the Fordow facilities is not as great as the American media and the criminal Trump are saying, and the underground facilities have not been damaged."
He added that the world "should be confident" that the "nuclear knowledge" possessed by Iran "cannot be destroyed by these crimes."
Ravanbakhsh's comment came shortly after Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, also referred to the attacks as criminal and referred to them as war crimes, stating that the U.S. will suffer "everlasting consequences."
“The United States, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has committed a grave violation of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT by attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear installations," Araghchi said on social media.
“The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences. Each and every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior," he continued, adding that Iran "reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest and people."
Ravanbakhsh added that, by attacking Iran, the U.S. had opened its forces to "legitimized military operations."
"With this action, Trump left himself and the terrorist forces of America helpless. With this stupid action, Trump legitimized military operations against his forces in the region," the MP said.
He then chillingly stated that Trump should start ordering coffins for members of those forces.
"Trump should order mass production from coffin manufacturing companies as soon as possible to transport the bodies of American soldiers stationed in the region," he concluded.
Trump announced Saturday that the U.S. military struck three sites in Iran, as America joins Israel's conflict against Iran.
The decision to directly involve the U.S. comes after more than a week of strikes. The U.S. joined the conflict on the side of Israel, which had hoped to destroy Iran's nuclear program once and for all.
The repercussions from the strikes could be dire — a much wider regional conflict could be on the horizon. Israel had also been working to destroy the country's air defenses and offensive missile capabilities.
"We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan," Trump wrote on Truth Social on Saturday. "All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home."
"Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter," he concluded. He later added that he would be addressing the nation at 10 p.m. EDT to discuss the attacks.
Israeli officials previously said that American stealth bombers and a 30,000-pound bunker buster bomb that only the U.S. has offered the best chance of destroying heavily fortified sites connected to Iran's nuclear program. They were buried deep underground.
Israel's military warned on Saturday that it's ready for a lengthy war with Iran, as the U.S. military was seen moving multiple B-2 bombers westward.
