Russian soldiers drag Ukrainian PoW to death behind motorbike in new horrifying footage
Russia is facing mounting accusations of war crimes in Ukraine after harrowing footage emerged showing a Ukrainian prisoner of war being dragged to death
A gruesome new video has surfaced, showcasing the cold-blooded execution of a Ukrainian POW by Russian forces—a savage incident that has incited global condemnation.
Due to the graphic nature of the footage, it is not being circulated, but reports indicate it shows a helpless prisoner cruelly bound and affixed to the rear of a motorcycle.
The grainy aerial footage reveals the setup for this monstrous deed on a barren stretch within occupied territory, capturing two Russian troops — one at the helm of the vehicle, another attending to the captive — as they ready the barbaric scene. The motorbike then speeds away, dragging the defenseless man across the asphalt.
While the exact location of the cruelty is yet to be pinpointed, Ukrainian authorities are decrying the action as an egregious breach of international law. Ukraine's human rights chief, Dmytro Lubinets, stated: "A video is being circulated on social media: it shows a man tied to a motorcycle and dragged along the road. This is demonstrative cruelty and another war crime by the Russian Federation."
In response, Lubinets has reached out to both the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, pressing for intervention. Should the act be confirmed, it would represent a severe infringement of the Geneva Conventions and principles of international humanitarian law.
"Russia is acting like a terrorist state," Lubinets proclaimed. "And it must bear fair responsibility for every crime." As of May 23, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office is probing 75 cases involving the slaying of 268 prisoners of war by Russian forces since the full-scale invasion began.
One particularly heinous incident took place in January, where a group of Russian troops were filmed brutally executing six Ukrainian PoWs. In the disturbing footage, one of the perpetrators is heard saying, "This one's mine," before demanding, "Give me two machine guns."
In another shocking episode last October, nine Ukrainian drone operators were brutally stripped to their underwear and shot dead by Russian forces, with the entire execution being filmed.
Recently, a Ukrainian former prisoner, Andriy Pereverzev, recounted a horrific tale of torture at the hands of Kremlin soldiers, who burned the words 'Glory to Russia' on his abdomen.
Pereverzev was captured in February 2024 on the battlefield after being severely wounded and said that once in custody, Putin's fighters subjected him to electrocution in his open wound in an attempt to extract intelligence and seared the words 'Glory to Russia' onto his stomach using a medical cautery tool.
"I lifted my head just to look at my stomach," he recounted, "And there it was. 'Glory to Russia.' Burned into my skin with a medical cautery tool."
