Former ESPN star Pablo S. Torre aimed a brutal putdown at FOX Sports star Nick Wright this week, claiming he's still banned from his podcast and that he and Larsa Pippen are both "obsessed" with Michael Jordan.

NBA icon Jordan is preparing to enter the sports media world next season, with the six-time champion set to join NBC's coverage of the league next season.

Jordan, 62, will turn his attention away from his 23XI NASCAR team in order to provide special analysis on NBA games from next season onwards. Despite having previously stated he'd stay away from media duties - he'll provide a role in contrast to that of Tom Brady on the NFL.

But not everyone is impressed, with Wright joking that Jordan should be the NBC "gambling expert" in a direct dig at the NBA icon's history of betting and gambling.

Speaking on his 'Pablo Torre Finds Out' podcast, Torre went to task on Wright over his continuous shots at Jordan, and expressed that he was still banned from the show.

“It’s hard for me to tell,” Torre said of his relationship with Wright. “Is Nick Wright still banned from PTFO? I think the answer must be ‘Yes,' And also, ‘Does Nick Wright have something in common with Larsa Pippen?’ I would say, ‘Yes.’

"Yeah, I would say they’re both almost clinically obsessed with Michael Jordan. That seems to be a throughline, so yeah, f--- you Nick Wright.”

Speaking on Thursday's edition of the podcast, Torre appeared to change his tune slightly, admitting he and Wright have something in common.

“I just think that Nick Wright and I are both jealous of people who are more ambitious and more creative than us," he said. "And that’s how I feel about The Rehearsal, and that’s clearly how he feels about this show.

"So the ultimate compliment – the ultimate compliment is that I want to be more like The Rehearsal, I think.”

Jordan is set to start his new role on NBC when the network takes over coverage of the NBA season, the start of the 2025-26 regular season.
