Dave Portnoy hit back at President Donald Trump's immigration policy while providing his two cents on the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

Since voting for Trump in the 2024 Presidential Election, Portnoy has disagreed with the 78-year-old on a multitude of topics, including his administration's handling of signal-gate and implementation of tariffs last month.

Now, Portnoy has taken issue with the developing situation involving Garcia - a U.S. citizen who was wrongly deported to a jail in El Salvador earlier this year despite a judge previously blocking his return to the country in 2019. The Trump administration acknowledged in court filings that an “administrative error” was to blame for the mishap involving the alleged MS-13 member.

While making an appearance on ‘The Megyn Kelly Show,’ Portnoy took issue with the fact that Garcia was deported with no due process. “You [could deport] about 1,000, and if you just pick the wrong guy once, with no due process, nothing, that's a major issue,” he said.

“Say they're an illegal but they're a great person and they're actually contributing, to me just picking them up and getting rid of them... I'd have a problem with that. [I want them to have] some due process,” Portnoy continued. “When you're doing it mass, you just can't ever make a mistake.”

In recent weeks, Garcia has become a main talking point in the ongoing discourse surrounding The Trump administration’s deportations. Whereas Republicans see him as a gangster who’s been accused by his wife of beating her, Democrats view him as a legal citizen who was wrongly sent to jail.

Portnoy, for one, doesn’t believe that Garcia should be used as a “poster boy” for the Democrats’ pro-immigration agenda. “The Democrats constantly... this is an issue [I can see] the logic behind. But you're not being sincere when this is your poster child,” he said.

“Take out politics, you see this story a lot... do you want him to be your next-door neighbor? Or do you want him out of the country?”

DON'T MISS:

This is hardly the first time that Portnoy has butted heads with Trump. Earlier this week, the Barstool Sports founder called him out for refusing to shoulder the blame for the United States’ shrinking economy.

On Wednesday, a Commerce Department report revealed that US gross domestic product contracted 0.3% in the first quarter of the year - marking the first economic shrinkage in the United States since 2022.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump insisted that the alarming trend was caused by the Biden administration. “This is Biden’s Stock Market, not Trump’s. I didn’t take over until January 20th,” he wrote.

“Tariffs will soon start kicking in, and companies are starting to move into the USA in record numbers… This has NOTHING TO DO WITH TARIFFS.”

Yet Portnoy was having none of it, reposting the message on X alongside the caption: “What’s that old expression? Don’t p--- down my back and tell me it’s raining? Well that applies here. The stock market is a direct reflection of Trump’s 1st 100 days in office. Doesn’t mean it won’t get better… but this is his market not Biden’s.”
