Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, are grieving the loss of their cherished rescue dog, Augie.

The adorable Beagle-Chihuahua mix, whom they welcomed into their home over a decade ago, sadly passed away on May 15.

In a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, Ellen shared a collection of photos showcasing Augie's happy moments around their home, accompanied by a poignant message: "We had to say goodbye to Augie yesterday. We rescued him 12 years ago, and he was so grateful.

"He gave us so much love. He will be missed. There will never be another like him."

This devastating loss comes as the couple is settling into their new life in the English countryside, following the backlash surrounding Ellen's long-running talk show.

After purchasing a property in the picturesque Cotswolds, they have been spotted at local hotspots, including The Farmer's Dog, a pub owned by Jeremy Clarkson of 'Clarkson's Farm"'fame.

Ellen's talk show came to a close in May 2022, and Portia has since shifted her focus to General Public, her art curation and publishing company.

In a separate incident, Ellen recently denied reports that their Cotswolds farmhouse had suffered flooding, dismissing speculation sparked by severe weather in the region.

The sprawling six-bedroom property, surrounded by 43 acres of land, reportedly experienced a flood scare when a stream flowing into the Thames River adjacent to the estate overflowed.

One neighbor was cited by the media saying: "The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I have seen it in years."

Ellen, however, has assured everyone that everything is under control.

Celebrating two decades with her "beautiful soul" partner, Portia, 52, Ellen expressed her love with a countryside selfie and a caption that reflected on their 20-year journey together: "20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life. You take care of me. You help me see the good in everything."

She continued, acknowledging how Portia uplifts her spirit: "You help to guide me and pick me up when I feel off or down. You are a beautiful soul that I am so very grateful to have as a partner to navigate this crazy life with. (sic)".

In a reassuring note, Ellen wrapped up her message by debunking the flood rumors: "P.S. for those of you concerned, our U.K. farmhouse did NOT flood."

According to reports by TMZ, the couple made the move to the UK following the victory of president-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 US presidential election.
