Met Gala co-chair Colman Domingo has sweetest love-story with husband
Met Gala co-chair Colman Domingo has unveiled how he met his husband, and it's the cutest story ever.
Colman Domingo’s decades-long romance is winning hearts all over again after he was announced as a co-chair for the 2025 Met Gala.
An old clip of Domingo sharing how he met his husband, Raul, has once again resurfaced online. The story previously went viral after the actor’s big night at the Oscars, where he was nominated for Best Actor for Sing Sing.
The viral story was told during a 2024 episode of The Graham Norton Show while he was promoting Rustin.

In the clip, Domingo recalls a chance meeting at a Walgreens nearly 20 years ago.
"I see this guy and we look at each other and I'm like, 'Oh my God,'" Domingo said.
At the time, he was talking on the phone while the stranger, Raul, appeared to be in a tense conversation with someone else, making it hard for Domingo to approach.
"I get off the phone, and they walk on down the street, but he keeps looking back. And I wave but he just keeps going," he said.
Three days later, fate intervened. Domingo stumbled across a Craigslist "missed connection" post that perfectly described their brief encounter.
"Saw you outside of Walgreens, Berkeley," the ad read. Amazingly, Raul had posted it just two hours after they first crossed paths.
"I jumped up like, 'Are you kidding me? That's me.' He described me with my faux hawk, it was 2005," Domingo shared.

The two reconnected and went on their first date three days later.
They have been together ever since, rarely stepping into the spotlight together but always standing strong behind the scenes.
Domingo usually keeps his relationship private, but made a rare public tribute when he accepted his Emmy Award for guest actor in a drama series in 2022.
"A lot of kindness brought me to this stage, people who love me, people who lift me up," he said.
"Thank you to those people. Thank you to my darling Raúl, this is for you."
