Prince Harry 'considered' changing children's surname in final dig at Royal Family
Prince Harry reportedly explored changing his family surname to Spencer - his late mother Princess Diana's name. The move would have seen his children's surname changed
Prince Harry 'doesn't know' how long King Charles has left
According to recent reports, Prince Harry has been considering changing his family name to Spencer, his mother's maiden name.
It's suggested that the Duke of Sussex sought counsel from his uncle, Charles Spencer, Diana's brother, on how to take on the family surname.
This would imply that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, would need to abandon their current surname, Mountbatten-Windsor.

It's believed that Harry discussed this matter with his uncle and "actively explored ways" to implement the change during an unspecified visit to Britain.
However, The Mail on Sunday reported that the duke was informed that "the legal hurdles were insurmountable".
An insider shared: "They had a very amicable conversation and Spencer advised him against taking such a step."
The publication emphasized that Harry's actions could potentially widen the gap between him and the Royal Family, as it would be "particularly hurtful" to King Charles, who holds his family name dear.
The Duke of Sussex has been reached out for comment. While the reigning sovereign typically does not use a family name, when necessary, it is Mountbatten-Windsor.

The surname is accessible to all descendants of the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. It merges the Royal Family's name of Windsor with the late Duke's adopted surname of Mountbatten.
Although their children's official family name is listed as Mountbatten-Windsor on their birth certificates - Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, the Duchess of Sussex prefers to go by the surname Sussex, which she received after marrying Prince Harry in 2018.
In her Netflix series With Love, Meghan gently corrected her friend Mindy Kaling by saying, "It's so funny you keep saying Meghan Markle—you know I'm Sussex now."
Meghan explained that sharing a surname with her children holds great significance for her: "You have kids and you go, 'No, I share my name with my children'.
"I didn't know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to go 'This is our family name. Our little family name.'"
