Meghan Markle is getting candid about how far her life has diverged from the plans she once had for herself.
On a recent episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, the Duchess of Sussex reflected on the unpredictable path her life has taken, sharing: “I always wanted to be a mom.”
“I had a whole vision,” she said. “You fast forward [and]...it was not the way I envisioned it.”

Meghan admitted: “There were a lot of external things happening by the time [she] had both pregnancies and both babies.”
Her son Archie, now five, was born while she and Prince Harry were still working royals. The couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to Montecito, California, where their daughter Lilibet was born in 2021.
As part of their anniversary celebrations, Meghan created a moodboard filled with personal moments from her relationship with Harry.
One featured a silhouette of her side profile while visibly pregnant, placed just above an ultrasound photo, presumably of Archie.
“For me, it’s so important my kids see me as a working mom,” she said.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry has stirred controversy with recent public remarks following the loss of his UK security appeal.
Speaking to the BBC, he said: “Look at the risk, look at the threat, look at the impact that if anything was to happen to me, my wife, or my father’s grandchildren. If anything was to happen to them, look where the responsibility lies.”
Following the court’s decision, Harry added: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
He linked the decision to concerns about repeating past tragedies: “I don’t want history to repeat itself,” he said, referencing the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
“I think there’s a lot of other people out there, the majority, that also don’t want history to repeat itself. Through the disclosure process, I’ve discovered that some people want history to repeat itself, which is pretty dark.”
