Brit Hume 'baffled' by Trump's comments about Putin
A Fox News anchor was left perplexed when Donald Trump criticized Vladimir Putin, declaring that the Russian leader "has gone absolutely crazy."
Following consecutive nights of Russia's bombs ravaging Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, Trump voiced his exasperation with Putin on Truth Social, writing, "I've always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!".
Trump hit out at Putin for "needlessly killing a lot of people," emphasizing, "missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever."

In a subsequent interview, Trump proclaimed, "I'm not happy with what Putin is doing."
Putin's assault drew Trump's ire as he stated, "He's killing a lot of people and I don't know what the hell happened to Putin. I've known him a long time, always gotten along with him, but he's sending rockets into cities and killing people and I don't like it at all."
The comments made by the President became a topic on air with Brit Hume, Fox's lead political commentator, expressing confusion, confessing, "I don't know what the president is talking about."
He continued, "The President has always had a very odd conception of Vladimir Putin."
Hume pondered Trump's perception of Putin, saying, "I think that he thought that he and Putin could be friends and partners and could make deals together and so on. But I don't think Putin has changed, I don't know what the president is talking about."
The journalist pressed on, "This is the way Putin has always been. He's always been a particularly brutal dictator, willing to take any measures he thought necessary to advance his interests."

When questioned about Trump's remarks, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov suggested the US President was experiencing "emotional overload."
He said, "We are really grateful to the Americans and to President Trump personally for their assistance in organizing and launching this negotiation process. Of course, at the same time, this is a very crucial moment, which is associated, of course, with the emotional overload of everyone absolutely and with emotional reactions."
Trump had previously boasted that he could bring an end to the Ukraine conflict within a day through negotiations with Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
However, following the recent attacks, he cautioned that Putin's actions could lead to the "downfall" of Russia.
In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed Putin is after "all of Ukraine," but warned that if he continues down this path, "it will lead to the downfall of Russia."
Social media users, however, seemed skeptical of the President's ominous prediction. The post was shared on the Instagram page S--- YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT, where critics mocked it, saying it sounded like an entry from Trump's "secret diary."
One individual vented in a mock diary entry, "Dear Diary....What's up with Vlad lately? Like I thought we were besties but lately she's been an absolute freak who seriously needs a spa day asap!"
Echoing the sentiment, another concurred, "He would do amazing as a teenage girl in drama world, not as president."
