The first Monopoly-style board game based on the war against Ukraine has been released in Russia, in which players compete to occupy as many Ukrainian cities as possible.

The game, “Special Operation on the Outskirts,” allows two to six players to “lead a battalion aiming to liberate Ukraine from Nazi rule,” according to an online description.

“This is a unique modern-day twist on Monopoly that will appeal to strategy and economy lovers,” a description of the game said, according to The Moscow Times.

The board game features Russian tanks and helicopters. Monopoly-like money features the faces of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Eastern cities welcome the liberators, while central and western ones succumb to enemy propaganda and make their liberation a real challenge,” the game’s description read.

A growing number of pro-Russian games and toys have been sold in the country since the war in Ukraine began in 2022.

It comes amid Russia's intensifying crackdown on dissent which has targeted Kremlin critics, journalists and activists.

In May, Russian authorities outlawed human rights organization Amnesty International, labeling it “undesirable.”

The decision meant the rights group was forced to stop any work in Russia.

The group had released reports on Russia’s war in Ukraine, accusing Moscow of crimes against humanity.

Russia’s list of “undesirable organizations” includes more than 200 entities, including prominent news outlets like Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and think tank Chatham House
