Kelly Clarkson makes major TV move amid fears for her NBC talk show

Kelly Clarkson has again turned heads after making a surprise return to The Voice this week.

The 43-year-old singer and talk show host shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram as she prepared for her big performance, writing, "I'm so happy to be back on the Voice tonight! #WhereHaveYouBeen."

She took the stage to debut her new single, Where Have You Been, from her upcoming album. It didn’t take long for fans to shower her with praise.

"Not only is Kelly beautiful but her voice can make the world stop turning. Wow!" one wrote.

"You killed it as always Kelly I love you so much!!!" said another, while a third added, "You sounded and looked amazing."

Dressed in a plunging black jumpsuit with sheer sleeves, sequin detailing and a feathered fringe, Kelly’s look was just as showstopping as her performance.

Her latest appearance on The Voice follows several notable moments on the show. She last served as a coach in 2023 during Blake Shelton’s final season and returned later that year to perform You for Christmas.

But even as she remains in the public eye, Kelly’s focus has been shifting behind the scenes. Rumors have begun circulating that she may soon step away from The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Emmy-winning program she currently headlines, in order to prioritize her personal life.

A source close to the singer shared, "Kelly's number one priority is her children, and they always will be," adding, "The show is grueling. It's a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South."

Kelly co-parents her two children — River Rose, 10, and Remington (Remy), eight — with her ex-husband and former manager Brandon Blackstock. Their high-profile divorce, which began in 2020, was finalized in 2022 after seven years of marriage.

It comes as shealso recently opened up about the lyrics to her new song. "I've rarely done something like this but I was watching Only Murders in the Building — it's Martin Short's face. He says to Meryl Streep's character in the show, 'Where have you been?'" Clarkson said.

It was then that Clarkson got the idea to write a song she wasn’t even sure existed yet. She says it was the on-screen romance between the two stars that really sparked it.

"He's like, in awe, and I was like, 'Has there been a— has anyone written a song?'" she continued. "Because the song is happy. It's like you found something that you thought was almost basically a unicorn and did not exist."
