FOX Sports has received an award for its coverage of NASCAR, but droves of motorsports fans already believe the network’s broadcast pales in comparison to that of Amazon Prime Video.

Before FOX relinquished its rights of 2025 Cup Series races to Amazon last month, the corporation drew fierce backlash for its coverage of events. In the final stage of the AdventHealth 400, commentators Mike Joy, Clint Bowyer, and Kevin Harvick didn’t notice a massive crash for several seconds.

One month prior, FOX was dragged over the coals for using a remote booth during the Truck Series' highly-anticipated return to Rockingham Speedway.

Despite all this, FOX was still honored at the Cynopsis Sports Media Awards, where it was given the live coverage of a sporting event award for its broadcast of the Daytona 500, which notably drew fewer viewers than the Indianapolis 500 this year.

Taking to social media, droves of viewers slammed Cynopsis for honoring FOX. “The bar must be rather low to win one of these awards. 500 coverage was not fantastic this year,” one X user wrote, with another adding: “NASCAR on FOX manages to win awards for having the worst professional coverage out of any sport on the entire planet.”

Contrastingly, Amazon has drawn immense praise for its coverage of the Cup Series after taking over for the Coca-Cola 600 and Cracker Barrel 400. Adam Alexander, Steve Letarte and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have provided in-depth analysis from the booth, while Danielle Trotta, Carl Edwards and Corey Lajoie have held down the fort in the studio.

“Amazon Prime treating NASCAR races how it used to be treated; Dignity, quality and extensive coverage,” one person declared. “This is how it used to feel 20 years ago and its sooooo damn refreshing. I love it. They can cover every Cup race from here until the end of time as far as I'm concerned!”

Someone else wrote: “At almost 40 years old, I've watched #NASCAR for as long as I can remember. #NASCARonPrime is the best race coverage ever, and it's really not close. I was about to cancel Prime bc I don't really use Amazon much, but I'll keep it now.”

DON'T MISS:

Not everyone is thrilled with Amazon receiving the rights to NASCAR races, even if it’s only for a handful of events. Some have grown annoyed that they now have to pay for yet another service to enjoy the Cup Series.

“I don't watch much Nascar, but I am tired of all of the streaming and I have Amazon Prime. To me, it isn't about the content, it's about the money grab and taking content that has been available for years and now making people pay extra for it,” an X user argued.

Others appear more than happy to shell out money for a better product, with someone stating: “I’ve had Amazon Prime for probably the last ten years, and I would gladly pay SPECIFICALLY for the NASCAR races to be on prime. By far the best coverage in over a decade. Provide amazing coverage? TAKE. MY. MONEY.”
